Being stuck in lockdown we are not left with much to do causing us to pick up new hobbies or continue with new ones. A hobby I love and have been able to expand on is reading and after reading a few other articles like this theme I have decided to offer some reviews of my own.

Every word you cannot say, Iain S Thomas:

As we are all aware lockdown has been a terrible experience and sometimes we feel a little negative or down and need a little something to remind us it is ok to feel this way and that we are not alone. If that is the case, then ‘Every Word You Cannot Say’ by Iain S Thomas is the perfect book for you, it is full of little sayings and reminders that everything will be ok. My personal copy has pencil lines and highlighter covering the pages on certain quotes I especially like. It is a small glimmer of hope and happiness in a time so dark.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F****, Mark Manson:

A book similar to Every Word You Cannot Say is The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F***, it is a book reminding you that you do not need to care about everything and some of the things you do are ok and perfectly normal. It also reminds you that not everything is important and there are some things you need to cut out or start doing. It was recommended to me by a friend and I have never been more grateful, I have started noticing changes I have made in my life and I am happier for it.

Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austin:

This whirlwind romance will keep you guessing at every turn and trying to keep up what would be love triangles but soon develop into love hexagons at times. It is a challenge to keep up at times and is a slow start but is worth the read as it is a well-loved classic with iconic quotes and an encouragement to read other classics.

Good Omens, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman:

A book turned TV series starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen is an incredible book full of laughter and chaos, the perfect mix to help you escape the mess of the real world. The story follows an angel and a demon both working together to stop the apocalypse and undo fatal mistakes they made years ago. With laughter, cringing, and an adoration for the two characters you will be unable to put the book down in my opinion, and even if the book is not for you then you must at least check out the series available on Amazon Prime.
