Many students struggle with choosing what to prioritise when it comes to their school lives and their personal lives. This applies mostly to students that have their GCSE exams coming up in a few months.

While some people find it difficult to deal with the stress that comes with balancing out  their school work with other outside activities, some students have managed to do that. Maria Duminec is a student that attends 'The Kingston Academy' and this is what she had to say about the struggle that comes with finding time for school work and personal activities “it can be difficult sometimes because I want to do my best in school so I sacrifice my personal life in order to study, sometimes this puts more pressure on me and it becomes more difficult to cope”  she mentions that there are hardships that come with trying to keep up with school work while simultaneously managing time for things you enjoy. Maria takes Japanese and piano lessons outside of school, and when asked about the effects they have on the stress that comes with exams, she said, “sometimes they add more stress because of my teachers’ expectations, meaning I have to put in extra time at home and give up some studying time, but mostly it’s refreshing because I get a chance to do something I really enjoy and it takes my mind off things for a while and makes me relax”. School generally comes with a factor of stress, however at the end of the day, the stress is only temporary and could always be lessened by doing something you enjoy.
