The sixth form at Notre Dame have put on their annual RAG week. This time it was our turn as upper sixth to do all of the organising. This year we are donating the proceeds to our chosen charity the Evelina children’s hospital. The work that they do is inspiring and has a special meaning to our girls as former students have received treatments from this hospital.

First off: deciding on a theme for the sixth formers outfits. We decided to dedicate a decade to each day starting at 60s and finishing with 90s (lots of double denim!) and it is fair to say we brought the flare(s)! (excuse the pun). We created two amazing chocolate hampers and sold raffle tickets throughout the week. We hosted a cake sale, and two pic and mix sales. We had a year 8 pool party, guess the teacher’s baby picture and a glitter station and best of all… a Domino’s pizza lunch! On the final day (whole school denim mufti) the upper sixth hosted a ‘Band-Aid’ style concert for the rest of the school to enjoy; featuring two amazing dances from the sixth form, music videos and a special appearance from the teacher’s band!

The aim of RAG week was to raise as much money as we could for a great cause in a way which we could get all the girls involved. I asked our Head girl Georgia Miron why she believed that it was important for us to take part in RAG week and here is what she concluded “I think it is important to raise money and awareness for smaller charities that people may not have heard of before. RAG week is a week filled with fun for the sixth form where we dress up and come together as a community and are a part of something very special”.

Overall, Notre Dame RAG week was extremely successful. I truly believe that this was an unforgettable experience for my final year at the school. Thank you to everybody who helped to organise; particularly the Prefect Team and our amazing head girls Georgia and Emanuela who worked tirelessly to ensure that RAG week was as fun filled as possible!
