Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United seems like just the statement United and their board needed to send out after a frustrating Summer window for José Mourinho.

Alexis Sanchez’s move up North sees him become the premier leagues highest earner with a certain Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving in the other direction.

The big debate is whether it is United or Arsenal who are coming out as winners once this deal.

In my opinion it has to be the Manchester club due to the fact that Sanchez has proven himself as one of the best in the league over the last few seasons compared to a Mkhitaryan who struggled to impress in his first season and a half at Old Trafford.

With news today of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang going to Arsenal, joining Mkhitaryan, the former Borussia Dortmund pair will look to recreate the successes they enjoyed in Germany together two years ago.

While Mkhitaryan adds creativity to the current Arsenal side, he offers very similar things to that of Meseut Özil, whereas Alexis Sanchez provides a spark in attack that United have been lacking. He can play anywhere across the front four and alongside the likes of Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku, he will look to help United regain their status at the top of not only English football, but also to take United back to where they once stood as champions of club football almost nine years ago.
