Trigger warning:Mention of death.

This book is something everyone been talking about so I read it recently and wanted to share my thoughts on the YA book written by Holly Jackson.First of all, I would like to say that the blurb is quite intriguing. It gives you a snapshot of the plot without giving anything away. The beginning of the book introduces characters such as the protagonist(Pip Fitz-Amobi) and Ravi Singh who is the brother of the Salil Singh, the supposed murderer of a teenger named Andie Bell. The author nicely introduces these  characters by showing what their personalities are like making the reader have more emotional link to these characters as the book goes along.

In general, the book has many chapters nicely spaced so you don’t feel like you have to stop reading in the middle of a chapter. It has 3 main parts to it creating an even greater suspense to the reader. As the book goes on Pip interviews many suspects for the case of how Andie Bell got murdered as she believed Sal Singh was guilty. She chooses this subject as her EPQ(Extended Project Qualification)She interviews many aspects and keeps a log of these interviews.

She finally draws a map of who they may be.This makes the reader try to figure it out for themselves which creates a feeling a tension throughout the book. One chapter,as a reader, you think that one person is the murderer then the next chapter your whole view changes.Throughout Pip’s journey you go along Ravi’s journey too who, like Pip,wants to prove Sal innocent.Their thinking become very similar as they grow closer throughout the whole book.Nearer the end of the book, the murderer of Sal Singh was someone unexpected.I was very shocked as I read who it was, definitely not someone I was expecting

As you get closer to the end of book you find out what really happens unfolding all the lies and secrets that were there before.Holly Jackson crafted the plot so beautifully that you can't predict anything in this book.As you read the last few words you realize how time went by so quickly and how you can never read this compelling book as if you’ve read it the first time.In conclusion, I recommend for everyone to dive into the world of Pip Fitz-Amobi.
