On November 19th, in Watford High street, marked the start of Winter in Watford. A stage, 20 foot Christmas tree and many more small stalls and little surprises were set up ready to entertain families for hours to come. To start of this amazing night, there was a spectacular performance by Clare Cordell from The Voice, who also light the red button to officially start Watford in Winter. Following that performance, there were even more, by the Watford Rock Choir and the Electric Umbrellas. There was a true sense off joy as there were many families having a nice evening out with celebrations and great food from the heart of Watford High Street. This event brought all the families together, some of them might be going through difficult times in their life at the moment and these sort of events bring people together and spread the warmth to everyone. This is what so special about these events and that is what Roshni Shah, a spectator said “ This annual event is one that bring brightness when some people are in the dark and the warmth when some are cold.” After all the terrific performances, there was the finale, the great firework display that lasted an entire 7 minutes. It was a true spectacle to watch and many hope that Watford Council will continue this annual event.
