I present to you Chalfont ST Peter Market Place. Ever heard of it? Didn’t think so.

In short it is “a village and civil parish in Chiltern district in south-east Buckinghamshire, England.” but the small country get away is rich in history, being around since the domesday book, back in the day where there was 20 households and lots of Ploughland.

Nowadays the village is bigger, better and more built up. in the last few years we’ve had the fascinating additions of a “co-op”, “savers” and even a tattoo shop.

however there are still lots of empty and deserted shops, many of the locals express how this is due to “ridiculous rent prices”, which is probably a cause of Chalfont ST Peter being located right next to Gerrards Cross which is one of the “most expensive places in England”

But who IS interested in a spot on Chalfont ST Peter high street?

rumours are flowing round the locals as to who is going to take over the spaces that have been left by HSBC, M&C, the dry cleaners, the mobility shop and more.

as I'm sure you expect, the predictions are spreading like wildfire, including;

costa

 it was a highly told story that costa had brought the building (previously owned by HSBC) that is situated at the bottom of the village by the roundabout, although they own a store in two of the surrounding villages (Chalfont ST Giles and Gerrards Cross) but apparently this is all false! and then popular coffee shop has no interest in the small village.

M&S

This is probably the most believed rumour of the village, the popular food chain is said to of brought three of the high street stores, however this is now said to not be true, apparently on of these shops put up resistant so there plan was put to a sudden halt. but who know the truth?!

overall, nobody really knows, the fate of our little village is still not sealed.
