On the 14th June 2017 the 24-story building, Grenfell Tower, lit up like a match in the early hours of the morning. Taking around 5 hours to put out the fire an estimated 71 people had perished in the flames, children, adults and residents in the area were devastated by this tragedy.
What would come you follow is crucial building inspections to ensure the safety of residents and quick repairs of faulty buildings. Yet the main issue would be how to recover both emotionally and physically from this tragedy, where many people who had escaped had nothing to rebuild their lives on as it was destroyed in the fire.
Donations in the area where quick and helpful, there were so many that they began to refuse items as there was nowhere to put them.
During the Brit Awards grime artist, Stormzy questioned prime minister Theresa May saying "Yo, Theresa May where's that money for Grenfell? What you thought we just forgot about Grenfell?". Although the government has insisted on using £58 million towards the incident.
Through the windows of Burlington Danes, the building still stands lonesome and burnt the memories of those who lived, grew up and died there still remain within the building. Some can only wonder if those who were affected have seen a change
