THE INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE;

 

Today’s match was between two teams; one, the Royal Challengers Bangalore, who have already safely made their way into the top four, and the other; Punjab Super Kings, are currently fifth. 

 

Punjab batted first, with Captian KL Rahul opening, getting a massive 91 runs from only 57 balls. His opening partner, on the other hand, Prabhsimran Singh, went out for a disappointing 7 from 7 balls. 

 

Chris Gayle, another big hitter, gave the team 46 more runs from 24 balls, making almost double the amount of balls he’d played. Unfortunately, he was caught out by AB DeVilliers from the opposing team. The players who came after him, went out for pitifully low scores (0,5 and 0 runs, respectively) 

 

The match ended with the last three overs being carried by Harpreet Brar, who made a score of 25 from 17 balls. 

 

Royal Challengers, had a starkly different batting record. They started with a promising run up, opening with the current Indian team captain, Virat Kholi, making 35 runs from 34 balls, along with Devdutt Padikkal, going for a small 7 runs from six balls. Kholi was bolded by Harpreet Brar, and Devdutt by Riley Meredith. 

 

Rajat Patidar, the third batsman for the team, ended up maing 31 runs from 30 balls, before being caught out by Nicholas Pooran. The players after him, including big names, such as Glenn Maxwell and AB De Villiers, along with two other players, went out for extremely low scores, and low balls. 

 

The match ended with Kyle Jamison and Mohammed Siraj, still standing, Punjab had taken 8 wickets from RCB. Punjab won by a whopping 34 runs. The match was extremely tense, and the next match between the two, happens on the 6th of May.

 

Tomorrow’s match, Mumbai Vs Chennai - would bring a colder atmosphere to the Arun Jaitley Stadium, in Delhi.
