Growing up, it isn’t uncommon to hear your parents banging on about the benefits of eating vegetables and in particular green ones. As a kid, the prospect of putting such a thing in your mouth seems vile to even think about butthere are immense benefits of maintaining a healthy diet 

 

Firstly , green vegetables have numerous benefits that  you may be unaware of. They help fight infection, greens contain chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is closely aligned to human blood. It acts as blood cleanser and detoxifier. Chlorophyll helps fight infection, helps with skin problems and and is anti inflammatory. Furthermore it keeps bones and teeth strong, greens such as spinach, kale and broccoli are packed with calcium and magnesium,  both vital for bones and teeth strength. Lastly, greens are essential to growth and development, green fruits and vegetables are packed with vitamins and minerals including potassium, magnesium, folate and more. Theses are important for growth and muscle development.

 

While greens are necessary to ensure you have a healthy diet and are integral part of a healthy persons everyday meals, there are other things you can do to ensure you and your body keep healthy.  Base your meals on higher fibre starchy carbohydrate. Starchy carbohydrates  should make up just over a third of the food you eat. They include potatoes, bread, rice, pasta and cereals. Choose higher fibre or wholegrain varieties, such as wholewheat pasta, brown rice or potatoes with their skins on. They contain more fibre than white or  refined starchy carbohydrates and can help you feel full for longer. Eat more fish which helps prevent heart disease, cut down on saturated fat and sugar. Try to have no more than 30g of saturated fat a day. Additionally, avoid consuming large  amounts of salt and never skip breakfast.

These small tips will ensure that you maintain a healthy routine and body that will prevent any problems likely to occur and will make you feel better and look better as a result of following these straightforward guidelines that not only benefit your health but also your appearance.
