Albania 0-2 England

                 Kane 38, Mount 63

England completed a routine victory over Albania in this World Cup European Qualifiers match in Tirana on Sunday night [ 28th March 2021]. Harry Kane opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a skillful diving header. Mason Mount then hit a low footed drive past Etrit Berisha [ the Albanian goalkeeper] in the 63rd minute. There were more chances for England and if they had been a little more controlled with the ball, they would have had more goals. Harry Kane had a shot narrowly sent wide over the crossbar and exciting Man City young starlet Phil Foden had his effort saved by Berisha. Gareth Southgate was pleased with the victory and said:

"What pleased me, we adapted well to the difficult pitch, controlled the game well. We changed the shape of the midfield well and looked comfortable after that.''

He did mention that there were areas to improve on. I was watching the game myself and I think that there are areas they could improve on, especiall control of the ball. England have an unbeaten run of 23 matches in these qualifiers, which is really impressive! But they face a tricky challenge on Wednesday 31st March when they play Poland at Wembley. Poland have gotten off to a good start, drawing 3-3 against Hungary and comfortably beating Andorra 3-0.

Will the Three Lions be able to beat Poland?
