Here in the UK we are currently in phase 2 of Covid-19 vaccinations. Despite this, an unbelievable amount of people still believe a whole host of falsities about the vaccine.

For starters, some people believe that the Covid-19 vaccine somehow has the ability to mutate and alter DNA. This claim, however, has no validity and is entirely false.

Another conspiracy is that Bill Gates has somehow installed a microchip to track people's movements. Yes, some people actually believe this.

Finally, if you have previously had Covid-19, you may develop a temporary resistance to the virus, but Covid-19 is constantly mutating and it is still necessary that you take the vaccine.

How these misconceptions spread

Starting out as a mere thought in a conspiracy theorists head, these misconceptions gain traction. People feel powerful being part of a movement and protesting, no matter how ridiculous the claim. Another common excuse is that the government has no right to enforce a lockdown or mask wearing, and our rights are being violated. To these people I ask, what is more important, your right to a haircut and a restaurant meal, or millions of lives? I think the answer is clear.
