Deforestation; a tremendous environmental problem that in my opinion is not talked about enough, that is still happening even to this day, in which the most recent case was Deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon. The reason why this is not talked about enough is that nobody realizes the consequences that come with it and that it also affects us just as much as it affects the creatures inhabitation there. For example, it has led to a shortage of food, led to flooding, climate change, and even health issues. Forests are one of our most important keys for survival, it provides us with the air that we breathe, the food that we eat and an abundance of people entrust in forests as a way to operate. Not to mention its breathtaking beauty, many people take time out of their day to visit the nearest park that is covered with the tallest and the most beautiful of trees and the most attractive flowers. But to protect the environment, we first need to understand just how much this modifies the way that we live our lives.

To start with, let's talk about how exactly deforestation leads to flooding. Many people attain their food by growing it themselves, and with deforestation, the upper layer of the soil becomes displaced- this is commonly known as the erosion of the soil. This then results in being incapable of reserving water from the soil and creates uneven layers which then increases the risk of flooding. Flooding is a huge environmental hazard, for one, floods can cause death and injury and citizens can get locked into their houses with no way out, Moreover, flood water is a huge act of pollution, because floods wash chemicals and sewage into the water that will spread over an area quickly that causes health issues and kills the majority of the fish. As a consequence of the loss of fish, this rises an increase in the food deficit and will increase the need for food crops. This will also negatively impact financial property as it will destroy floors, walls, and any electrical gear in the house.

Furthermore, deforestation can also lead to a number of climate changes. The trees absorb and store lots of carbon dioxide, so when the forest gets cleared and cut, the carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases are released which causes around 10% of global warming. Global warming results in lots of health factors, such as the fact that it contributes to numerous respiratory diseases that make it especially dangerous if it comes into contact with humans. These are the sorts of things that people don't think about when they think about Deforestation, but what people don't realize that it does way more damage than meets the eye. 80% of the Earth's land animals and plants live in forests and removing trees reduces the distribution of species and this causes decreased genetic variation and an increased risk of species dying out. The further extinction of animals is a cry for help that we need to do something about this and by focusing on things that damage the world, we can encourage and influence others to pay attention. We can take a few minutes out of our day to simply take a survey or even bring it up in our conversations.

And by doing this, we can restore health in the beautiful world that we live in.
