Was the slashing of innocent citizen’s vehicle tyres an intended violent attack or an idea of fun for young teenagers?

In the early hours of Monday 23rd November morning, citizens in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire woke up to their cars vandalized. During some time in the night, 4 households had their vehicle tyres slashed. This incident took place down the road of Sefton Close, usually a family-friendly area.

Citizens woke up to a letter from police officers stating that their vehicle tyres had been slashed during the night. One member of the public stated that they heard the noise at some time around 1am, highlighting that ‘the noise was loud and woke my dogs up barking mad.’ During my interview with this individual, named Grace, she explained that the incident was out of the ordinary and not something members of the village typically experience.

It is believed that this act was not carried out alone by one individual, instead, it is believed that this was an act carried out by possibly two males, potentially in their teenage years. Many are understandably outraged by the unnecessary damage caused to their property.

During the time the incident took place, one man awoke to the noise of his dad’s van tyres being slashed. This resulted in him chasing the culprits down the street. But he was unfortunately unsuccessful in his attempts of catching the individuals.

The offenders are still unknown and the police are still investigating the incident. It is also unknown whether this was an act of malicious violence or an idea of what some may deem as a ‘fun’ or ‘thrilling’ experience.
