Girl,14, arrested on inquiry for a 24-year-old man found stabbed to death in Crawley.

Emergency services were rushed to Russell Way in the Three Bridges area, Crawley, at around 21:00 on Tuesday 27th of October 2020. Even after the patient, aged 24 years old, was treated by the skilled paramedics and (HEMS) the air ambulance service the victim was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sussex Police Department issued in a statement that; “Despite being treated by paramedics and an air ambulance doctor, he died at the scene.”

On Wednesday, around 22:40, a 14-year-old teenage girl from Crawley was arrested on suspicion of murder. A 21-year-old man from London was also arrested on suspicion of aiding the offender.

Bouquets of flowers have been tied to a bench near the death from people offering their condolences for the tragedy that occurred.

The increased number of stabbings in London continue provoke fear in Londoners hearts. The term stabbing has now been normalised in London, meaning that this gruesome act is being seen as the new norm in the new generation just according to the sheer numbers. Like in the case, aforementioned, teenagers of the mere age of 14 are being arrested and being put on trial.

It is truly overwhelming to think of the years wasted at the Youth Detention Centres when so much potential is looming above these youngsters. The phrase ‘The Youth Will Lead Tomorrow’ is dwindling as the kids who could lead our new generations are being put to the ground with gang violence and knife crime.

The exposure that the youth face is detrimental to the outcome of these problems. When murder, violence and abuse is fantasised on TV shows and movies we cannot push all the blame on the current generation, the older generation clearly still play apart too. The increased number of hate crime also shows that the upbringing of these impressionable kids also leads to the death of many.

Change needs to be evoked now. Starting with our generation – instead of bending our morals into what is deemed ‘cool’ and ‘popular’ we need to take initiative and put our safety at the forefront our minds - only then will others follow.

How many more stabbings of innocent children until it seems wrong?

How many more lives have to be sacrificed until we make a change?

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) is receiving calls about stabbings like never before and if change does not come soon, the lives of the young generation will slip away from our hands. Let’s make the change needed – Together.
