Is university not suited for everyone?

University a step that everyone feels they need to take, or possibly used to feel this way? With growing popularity in alternative options, the idea of university for some seems to be displeasing.

With 70% of young students going to university to please parents, is the path to university becoming outdated?

With being an A level student myself, this is something I will shortly be taking into consideration. Getting a degree is the foundation and basis for most jobs, with the high demand of getting one, not only universities are offering the qualification. Launched in September 2015, degree apprenticeships are a new and exciting opportunity to develop employer-focused higher education in England.

This programme introduced by the government, equivalates to a masters or bachelors degree. Apprenticeships allow you to earn money while studying for your chosen degree and the best part is when you finish the apprenticeship, you will receive your degree without being in debt.

Currently 50.2% of young people in the UK are going to university or completing some form of higher education. Students go to university for a variety of reasons: academic interest, future career, or social life. Such curriculums, courses, faculty, and facilities enable students to pursue their academic goals in the field of their choice, and this is one of the reasons why they go to university.

The appeal of a degree apprenticeship luminates to the fact that you'll be learning on-the-job with your employer, you'll gain lots of experience to enhance your CV whilst studying for your degree apprenticeship. This gives you an advantage over graduates from full-time courses, who wouldn't have had as many opportunities to use what they learnt in the workplace.

With the expansion of the availability of numerous sectors on what to study your apprenticeship on, you can virtually achieve in anything from: business and administration, childcare and education, construction, creative and design, digital, engineering and manufacturing, health and science, legal, finance, and accounting, protective services.

Even if you are unsure about what specific subject you want to choose, by doing an apprenticeship in a selected sector you are bound to gain many key skills and values that will carry you in life or in a workplace.
