Who was your inspiration growing up?

Michael Jackson, I listened to a lot of his music, videos, concerts and I like his style and arrangement of music. I think he was a good songwriter.

What advice would you give someone starting up in the music industry?

“Network, Network, Network.” Get good at it, take courses. Study your craft. Go to music events, gigs, shows and music conferences. Meet up with like-minded people.

What inspired you to start your music career?

It started as a hobby and it is very therapeutic, creative and enjoyable. Space for me to do my own thing.

What are the 3 highlights so far in your career?

When I performed at the Jazz café, where I was the lead for the band I was performing with, the crowd responded well. Another highlight, first release in 2009, house song. Third one, hosting music events, first one was last year April. Loads of good highlights but those are the main ones.

How did it start?

Dad used to bring back tracks that were in the top 40, I was always up to date with the latest music. Examples, Kylie Minogue, Michael Jackson and Madonna. He got me a recorder and I started writing my own melodies. We had a hymn book and used the lyrics to make melodies. There was also a fisher price record player, I used to write lyrics with that music when I was 8. Around 7/8 I really liked doing things related to music.
