This Vanarama National league match between Dagenham & Redbridge and Torquay United ended goalless after a rally of chances between both teams.
Dagenham pressured Torquay throughout the majority of the match however Torquay was well supported by their midfielders as they came close to many goals. They hit both posts and the crossbar but thankfully, for Dagenham’s new manager Daryl McMahon, Torquay were unable to find the net.
Some may consider this match a violent duel, but only one player came out with a yellow card, and that was Robinson of Dagenham. He was allocated the yellow card after a poor challenge on one of Torquay’s defenders. The away fans were not having it, and screamed across the pitch from the stands calling for an immediate red card. There was other ‘unfair’ collisions on the pitch which saw 1542 people screaming and chanting for the other team to receive cautions.
Dagenham was the team that came out with more shots and more possession and from the stands you could see the rival team were frustrated.
Towards the final minutes of the game, Torquay United players appeared to start ‘time-wasting’ so they can hold on to the one point which increased there position from 16th to 14th, whilst Dagenham and Redbridge also upped there position from 20th to 19th, just escaping the relegation zone which would see Dagenham drop to the National league south. The 6th tear in English football.
