This Winter, take a visit to Havering Christmas land, where lights and Christmas spirits entertain your journey. If this isn’t enough, tunnels of light, Disney characters, gingerbread houses and other festival features also exaggerate a fun family walk! Ciaran, the creator of this light show, has worked at a mental health charity called ‘Mind’ for 6 years, he has always wanted to do a Christmas event that is a cheaper alternative for local residents, where he could raise awareness about the programmes they run.
These include, good mental health for all, moving forwards and healthier body and mind. This is also made to highlight the ‘secret garden for the blind’ and raise funds to invest in the garden in Spring and Summer, to bring sensory plants and ornaments and allowing accessibility for all.
Local schools also got involved in the mighty masterpiece, by decorating Christmas trees! Before entering the peaceful show, greeted by music, grab a mince pie and some mulled wine to entice your Christmas spirit. To top it all off, a visit to Santa’s grotto … if you have been good this year!
