while lockdown might be bad for humans the local duck population is thriving. As part of your daily exercise why not take a stroll down to your local duck pond and see how the ducks are doing. In recent days i have been a frequent visitor to a bromley park that is home to three new families of ducks. The first family is a paddling of seven noisy duckling. These are the oldest of the duck babies around thirty days old and already shedding their down and growing proper feathers. The other two paddling’s are a family of five and a fluffy family of two.

Over resent days these fluffy ducklings have become local celebrities with photos appearing all over local facebook pages. Alongside the duck babies the pond also has a very flamboyant colourful duck who’s hair cut bares more than a passing resemblance to a famous Donald (and it’s not the duck).

lockdown has made many bromley residents realise how lucky we are to live in such a green borough with so much open space and wonderful wildlife.
