Being asked to stay at home and not leave sounds tough at first, especially when there are so many things that we enjoy in 'the outside world', but it definitely isn't all bad, here are 10 things to do while stuck at home:

1. Paint or decorate around the house

The long hours at home can be spent well finally painting that wall you said you was going to do two years ago, or building that shelf that has been in its box for months, whatever it is, now is the perfect time to get the job done, not only is it productive, but it makes the place where we'll be stuck seem so much more pleasant, and refreshed.

2. Excersise!

Whether you've wanted to lose a few pounds or not, excersising is an amazing way to spend some of the hours of self isolation, not only can excersising foster weight loss, but it also improves mood, excersising doesn't need to me gruelling hours of lifting weights, there are plenty of videos on youtube that are fast and easy, and some that incorporate dance, making for an enjoyable and healthy activity to fill the time.

3. Clear out your wardrobe

I can say for myself that I have a terrible habit of buying new clothes without getting rid of any old ones, which has resulted in a pile up of clothes on every available surface in the home. Now is a perfect time to put on some music and face the wardrobe, picking which to donate, which to keep and which to sell, helping you make some money, gie to charity and get more space for when we are allowed into stores again (hopefully in time for sales!)

4. Fix your sleep schedule

Whilst self isolating, planning out the activities of your day in a way that suits you leaves you a perfect oppourtunity to start sleeping for more that four hours a night, getting eight hours of sleep is incredibly important for the health of our bodies, and now, with days open for us to schedule, is the perfect time to start giving your body the sleep it deserves.

5. Learn a new skill

Ask yourself, 'what is one thing I would do if I had more time', and do it! Whether it be learning a new language, learning to cook or trying out some new hairstyles, there are plenty of online resources available to help you learn a new skill and now there is ample time for you to do it.

6. Get on top of work

Whether you're a student (except for those of you with cancelled exams) or working a full time job, now is the perfect oppourtunity to check of those parts of your to-do list you've been all to happy putting off, make that phone call, go over those topics or organise that foldre, whatever it is, now is the perfect time to do it.

7. Socialise!

Now is the perfect time to make use of the technology we have, call your friends or family that are outside of your household, whether you are close or haven't spoken in a while, now is the perfect time to maintain relationships, or put effort into those that may have been neglected, it is incredibly important to maintain contact with other people to keep your sanity.

8. Look after yourself

In a world that hasn't come to a halt due to a deadly pandemic, it's easy to neglect simple things, such as skincare and haircare. Looking after yourself can hugely impact self esteem and confidence, and with all this free time, it is the perfect time to establish a routine that leaves you feeling confident and refreshed.

9. Do what you love

After work is done and food has been eaten and errands have been run, it feels like all the time in the day has left you, the exact opposite of the situation we are in now. So treat yourself! Watch the series everyone reccomended that you can never make time for, read a new book or play a new game

10. STAY AT HOME

The most important point, and probably a given. But, when bored, it seems easy to believe yourself to be immune to illness and rules and 'just nip out', it is very important to remember that staying at home is to protect not just you, but everyone else, to ensure the illness doesn't spread and to prevent the strain on the heavily overworked healthcare workers.
