An ordinary day, transformed by a leaflet called 'Window Wanderland'? Is that possible? Well, it certainly lit up my day, as I had a flashback of a magical experience when I came across a trail of houses whose windows had images with light shining through them.

My curiosity got the better of me, and I found out the following. 'Window Wanderland' falls during the weekend of the 8th and 9th of February 2020 in Southfields. It is a completely free and inclusive event to all, in many ways as you can either participate by lighting up your own home, or look in from the outside. Anita Kumrai, a local resident said: "The variety, creativity, and imagination on one's doorstep was awe-inspiring."

It was founded in 2015 by a lady who experienced isolation due to a chronic illness and her vision was to bring the community together. This is a family event and your contribution can be simple or made with extreme detail.

The website on the leaflet explains that there are many trails to explore and provides all the best routes to see the windows, it also provides information on how to participate in creating your own displays.

This experience may inspire other local communities to take part in their own neighbourhood and who knows, it could become a worldwide event before we know it, so please refer to the link below (which was on the poster).

Whether you are a budding artist or a curious and imaginative soul, you will definitely be drawn in by the light.
