Currently we have a major global climate crisis. In approximately 30 years we will be past the point of no return and there will be nothing we can do about our deteriorating environment and this is why we need to act now!

There are many young people that believe they doesn’t have the knowledge of power to actually change things for our climate but that isn’t true. There are many small things you can do to help to ensure that we stop the brutal effects on climate change.

1.    You can start buying cloths for more environmentally friendly brands or even second hand from charity shops of sites such as Depop or eBay. This will decrease your carbon footprint as many large clothing countries ship their produce from all over the world which is extremely bad for the environment.

2.     You can take shorter showers to save water. Due to climate change we could have water shortages meaning eventually we could be without something every animals needs to survive, so if we cut down our water usage now we could seriously change things.

3.    Stop using single use plastic! This type of plastic is non biodegradable and takes thousands of years to naturally deteriorate. This plastic eventually ends up in our seas and is destroying the habitat of marine life. 1 million marine animals die from plastic related injuries each year because of human usage and this is defiantly not ok.

4.    When you leave a room turn the light off.  Doing this reducing carbon dioxide emissions from power stations and helps to make sure natural disasters such as the Australian bush fires don’t happen again.

So there are a few ways you can help to tackle climate change. Another important way is to ensure you speak to others about how they could support the climate and spread the message. You are never too young to get involved.
