The Environmental Hurdle

The ice caps are melting, the trees are being cut down and climates are changing. Climate change is the world’s biggest issue and more countries need to step up and change their ways to address climate change and the effects it will have on the future.

Ice caps, glaciers and ice sheets are melting at a rapid pace. They help us to find out how the planet is warming as well as helping us with historical information on past climates. The glaciers are melting due to human activity which is no surprise. The industrial revolution, greenhouse gases, global warming and emissions are some of the causes of them melting.

The Amazon Rainforest is one of the worlds biggest carbon dioxide sink. It’s trees take in a lot of carbon dioxide helping more oxygen let out into the atmosphere. However, according to research, about 30% of our world’s carbon emissions come from the Amazon. It means that all the trees we’re cutting down from the rainforest are releasing more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Deforestation is a major problem and should be tackled with especially in the rainforest.

So what can you do stop climate change? How can you make sure that the point of no return doesn’t happen? You can go to a climate march to get your voice and opinions heard by the government. Try and use your car less, a lot of emissions come from gas and petrol so try and cycle, walk or even consider going electric. Lastly doing the little things can make a big impact so don’t leave the tap running or turn off the lights when they aren’t necessary.
