Christmas day is celebrated by millions of people around the world. However, many families cannot spend this festive time with their loved ones because they choose to work or simply do not celebrate the event.
Some may choose to work at Christmas because their pay may be increased, but there are not many people who are in favour of working on a special occasion. I have experienced a family member working on Christmas Day, and I was not affected by it much as I was quite young at the time; although there was the incentive of a pay rise which was more important than taking one day out of the year to work.
People that work on Christmas day may have jobs and careers that consist of working long hours, such as nurses and doctors or people who simple do not celebrate the event.
