Local school girl breaks into showbiz

Lucy miller auditioned for the new upcoming Christmas film, ‘Last Christmas’ starring big names like Emilia Clarke and Emma Thompson. She was then informed she would join the production and be part of this phenomenal experience, as young Marta. From a young age Lucy has always dreamt of being a famous actor; this has changed her lifelong dream into a reality and being able to watch herself on the big screen was incredible.

Of course, Lucy did not do this alone, she has attended spotlights theatre school since she was 10, she started dancing at a young age but always wanted to join a musical theatre school but she struggled to find the right one. When asked had she got any behind the scene stories she shared “In the film I have to bite my thumb, we had to do many retakes since the director didn’t think I was being convincing so Emma Thompson gave me a ‘masterclass’ in biting my thumb,” she added “I will never forget it”, Lucy enjoyed working on the set and embracing this unusual yet amazing experience.

In a scene Lucy worked closely with Emma Thompson she said “Thompson was such a lovely person though she was gutted she didn’t meet Emilia Clarke” (the star of the film) and how she stepped outside when Clarke came through set to finish another day of shooting so missed her greeting the others on set. Miller states “it was so cool on set” due to the fact that everywhere she went she was escorted by someone who wore an ear piece and randomly said “Lucy walking I repeat Lucy walking,” she added “everyone was so friendly and it was very fun”. To have such a supportive group of friends and family behind her, Lucy managed to hire out the local Odeon to watch the film on the date ‘Last Christmas’ was released. She was adamant that it was weird watching herself on the massive cinema screen and when she appeared everyone started cheering and shouting, but she said “I was sinking down in my seat”.

To help anyone considering acting her advice would be “if it’s what you want to do in life go for it” since she has done the same with help from her agency. Finally, she said “Even if you’re not a hundred percent go for it because you would regret it and you may even manage to make a career out of it.” Lucy says “I will never forget Last Christmas!”

Lucy Miller has starred in a major film and hopes to do the same in many more yet she will always remember how she was introduced into the industry and her friendships she has made along the way. Being able to act, dance and sing as a job has always been the dream and this may be the big break Lucy was waiting for, so be prepared to see her on your TV screens again very soon!
