“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honourable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” - Emerson

What is the purpose of life? Do you enjoy life and cherish all the good moments? Or work hard get a good degree and bring up your social status? Or are you on planet Earth to give birth and help populate it?

Personally, I feel that the purpose of life is to live and welcome death with open arms. Let's face it, everyone will die one day - so acknowledge the fact and live happily. I know that will be hard (as humans, it is natural to fear something so vicious and deadly) but embracing the fact that we may die today or tomorrow or in twenty years time is a way of moving forward - getting about your life.

However, death is something you should acknowledge, not dwell on. Death is an unofficial taboo, and not many people talk about it. Me, I had never thought about death being so close until two of my grandparents died consecutively. Up until then, no one in my family had ever spoken about death, but I now feel as though this is something we should educate our younger generations on - live life, and die satisfied.
