I am your typical Londoner who uses public transport very frequently and moans all the time when it comes to rush hour when people just decide to barge in the train even though they see that it’s full and there’s no space! Or maybe it’s just me.

Nonetheless, today was something new. As I was hopping off Wood Street Station, I took notice of the vibrant, yellow daffodils and fragrant lavenders which excited and uplifted me after spending an hour in a jam-packed and humid train. The smell of the plants was aromatic and looked luminous with the sun beaming on them. With some hard work and determination, these elegant plants had been planted by some amazing volunteers with the help of the Energy Garden Team as well as our Councillor Vicky te Velde and her fellow scout leaders from 14th Walthamstow Scout Group based in Wood Street. “Wow! How stunning. Well done and Thank you to everyone who helped out. Wood Street Station has upped their game!” Ha Eun, a local train passenger exclaimed as she walked by. It was a massive project but worth it all, as Wood Street Station looks more attractive and interesting for passersby.

It was lovely to see how my local community can come together and create an eco-friendlier and brighter Station. I am sure we can all do more and greater things to bring us all together as a family and create a better atmosphere for all!
