On this day, February 15th, thousands of students across the country participated in a student strike and protest to battle against Climate Change. Brandishing signs and slogans like sword and shields, London students took to Parliament Square.
The goal? Well, in their eyes (and the eyes of many) the government isn't doing enough to prevent climate change. They hoped that by raising awareness and voicing their concerns, Parliament will decide to write in some laws that will help reverse the effects of climate change on our planet.

This happened in major cities all across England- nearly every one of them having a movement of their own.
It was started by students simply agreeing to meet up, and this grew and grew until thousands of people decided to attend. It was inspired by Greta Thunburg- a student in Sweden who sat outside of the Swedish parliament building during school hours. She held a sign saying "school strike for the climate". She herself credits the protesters in Florida, who wanted gun control in America (after a school shooting took place).
Since then, strikes have been happening all over the world, all for the same thing. The biggest example would probably be in Brussels (January 24th), where 32000 students gathered outside of the European Parliament in Brussels.

In the last year, students have stood up to fight more than ever. It's clear that students are the future. And we intend to make it the best future possible.
