The remembrance of the holocaust in ww2

holocaust Memorial Day takes place on 27 January every year and is a day to remember and reflect of the millions of people who died under the nazis.

Holocaust is a historic event and one that should be remembered for years to come this heinous crime shook the world by the horrors of the concentration camps and death camps. it has been quoted by Stalin the Russian president as one of the greatest crimes in the history of humanity.but what makes it so shocking to us ? It is the murder of innocent people who did no wrong but was judged because they were different. the holocaust was not specifically the genocide of the Jews but also of other minority groups who were seen differently in society eg. People with disabilities. however sadly anti semmetisim, driscimination and genocide still exist in our modern society and has not yet ended in many other countries . Death camps and concentration camps were initially a way to get rid of the Jewish populating nazi Germany. The holocaust is an important event in history one that should never be repeated and used to learn a lesson from.this years HMD theme is torn from home which makes people think about how the millions of people had to leave their homes in fear of being killed or persecuted just for believing g in something diffrent or looking diffrent.this creates a theme of injustice for many of the minority groups. I believe that driscimination is a key issue in society one that will never truly leave until we speak up.
