The national gallery is world famous for holding some of the most popular artworks in the world. It has become a popular tourist attraction and I went to find out exactly why.

When entering the gallery, you can clearly locate on the map the many different sections which contain all different kinds of artists. I headed towards the Van Gogh section since he was my favourite artist and along my way I encountered some of the most exquisite paintings. There were so many artists along the way such as Monet, Matisse, Bellini, Michelangelo and so many more. Every room was filled with people in awe of the sight of the breathtaking paintings.

Being able to see so many artworks by many different artists really helped me learn more about why people love visiting galleries so much. Every painting had a backstory which I found very inspired by.

I entered one room in particular which instantly took my breath away. It was the biggest room in the gallery and consisted of beautifully designed walls and ceilings, very impressive paintings and of course a massive bunch of people standing i front of every single artwork.

Overall, I would definitely go again, it opened my eyes up to the beauty of art and how every single artwork had such a meaningful story behind it. I cannot imagine how much time and effort went into all the paintings.

If you are thinking of going, I would 100 percent recommend spending a day in the gallery it will really take your breath away and open up your eyes to so many things.
