On Sunday the 13th of January, at around 10:30 pm, a woman was heard shouting the words ‘’Help Us!’’ and the woman was shouting ‘’He is going to kill us!’’; not long after, a loud bang is heard. A man had smashed the front door of a flat and was violently threatening to kill the woman and the two kids inside; at this point, he had smashed all of the windows within the house and was inside the flat. However, they had thankfully managed to escape and seek refuge in a nearby neighbour’s house. The woman and the two kids had escaped, whilst the man stayed in the flat, whilst witnesses were watching from outside. The man had seemed to be extremely high on hard drugs. After some fifteen minutes the police had arrived. However, they cannot go in and are in need of some serious back up, suddenly, around 15 police cars and 30 policemen had arrived and they brought in an Alsatian police dog. The dog had found the man hiding up a tree in the back garden; wearing only underpants. The dog had then bit him and so the man hit the dog and this led to the dog really going for the man as the sound of fighting and screaming fills the whole street.

Then more police, battering rams to remove a fence, with the assistance of an ambulance and a doctor, and the man is eventually wheeled out, tied to a stretcher, face-down, while yelling; to the point in which he was held down by all of the police there. The man was yelling ‘’Allahu Akbar’’ (meaning ‘’God is the greatest’’ in Arabic) at the top of his voice as he was being pushed into the ambulance. Upon interviewing a witness, she told me that ‘’despite the fact that the police received a lot of 999 calls, they took 15 minutes to get there and the innocent occupants hid in another house in the street. The police dog did a good job and caught the suspect much quicker than the 20 police officers.’’ Another witness said ‘’When the offender was brought out from behind the house, he was strapped face down to an ambulance trolley with about 15-20 policemen keeping him pushed down. It was a truly frightening scene to witness for all,. However, it is great to know that the victims who were threatened got away safely.’’
