Carshalton and Wallington local residents were treated to the annual traditional Frost Fair, located on the picturesque Carshalton Ponds in Honeywood Walk from 1pm till 6pm. Organised by local charity EcoLocal, the stalls were lined up along the Walk. In the Memorial Gardens, it consisted of conventional jam stalls, hand-crafted gifts, delicious foods and much more!

There was no charge for the Frost Fair, however, volunteers were standing at the gates with charity buckets to collect for the event.

Throughout the day, at the Memorial Garden Stage, music and entertainment was going on, which added to the festive atmosphere. Acts included the Zero Carbon Band, Simon and the Witch and the Frisbys.

It was a fun-filled day for the whole the family and while the fair was being held, choirs sang traditional Christmas carols. A local resident commented that “this feels very festive!”.

But that’s not all, meanwhile in Carshalton High Street, there was the Christmas light switch on at 6pm. The shops were buzzing! Calladoodles, a popular crafts store situated in Carshalton High Street, were selling lots of fun Christmas decorations; luxurious baubles and handmade cards.  Various attractions were also put up, including a mini Ferris wheel on the high street and a Reindeer Trail in Festive Walk.

Although it wasn’t so frosty and it didn’t snow, the weather held up for the Frost Fair. The sounds of Christmas music and the joyous atmosphere further added to the festive cheer.

All in all, it was a successful day and who knows, maybe in 2019 the fair will hold up to its name and be frosty?
