On the 13th December 2018, Trinity Hospice in Clapham is hosting their annual Light Up a Life.

The Christmas countdown has begun. With John Lewis’ Christmas advert out, Costa’s new Christmas drinks range (I thoroughly recommend the hazelnut praline hot chocolate –truly delicious) and opening the first few doors of advent calendar. The month of festivities has arrived.

Carol concerts play a huge role in this run up and Trinity hospice are hosting their Light up a Life event. A night of carols, guest readers and mince pies - it will put you that Christmas Spirit. It is on 13th December 2018 at 6:45 for the lighting of the Christmas tree at Trinity Hospice in Clapham followed by a candlelit procession to the Holy Trinity Church. Remembering a loved one at Christmas is always hard. Whether it is on Christmas Day where there is an empty chair around the dining room table or not being able to buy a Christmas present for someone you have lost - it is difficult. Light up a life is a beautiful way to remember loved ones at this time of the year.

Trinity provides end of life care and gives support to their family and friends. Trinity provides physical, psychological, practical and spiritual care to those who are dying. In 2017, they supported 2351 patients with over 80% of those in the comfort of their own homes. Shivon Hegarty says: “If there is a dignified way to spend your last days, Trinity is that place” and Dawn Goremykina states that Trinity is “treating people with dignity, respect and love”.

No need to book and the event is free but donations are welcomed. Come and join this night of Christmas joy!
