New library and cinema open in West Norwood

There is a brand new West Norwood Library & also a cinema that is open for business & has already proved that it is doing well with local residents ironically only being open for a couple of weeks.

The library has a enjoyable & appealing area for children, a room which consist of 30 computers with have free Wi-Fi & more than 35,000 books. There are also regular classes & activities for those of all ages in this library & opening times that have been increased to 54 hours per week. The librarians / library assistants are always active at any hour & delighted to help.

The cinema (run by Picturehouse) has four screens, a café & a bar area open to library users as well. The seating areas for relaxation and work are very spacious.

Cllr Sonia Winifred, Lambeth Cabinet Member for Equalities & Culture, has reported “I’m delighted that West Norwood Library is now open, it looks wonderful and is going to be a fantastic asset for the community.”

West Norwood Library & Picturehouse is accessible for those who use wheelchairs & has a lift as well. There are 3 disabled parking bays; every screen in the cinema has an infrared system to play description of audio. Voice commentary is offered. Headphones are offered too. These describe the film to those wanting to watch.
