Trainee football coach was stabbed to death as he walked home after picking up his birthday meal.

At around 10:20pm on Friday, October 12th, officers from the metropolitan police were called to Manford Way in Hainault, North-East London, to reports that two men had been stabbed.

The Met and paramedics from the London Ambulance Services attended, but one of the men was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, 350 yards away from his family home.

The second victim, aged 22, was taken to an East London hospital, where he remained in a serious but stable condition.

So far no arrest have been made and enquires are continuing.

A family member said: “He was a smart man, a good footballer. This is very painful. He was good and friendly. He never had a problem with people. He had four brothers and they looked up to him”.

“He had gone out with a friend to get dinner from a takeaway before a party. They just attacked him, I have no idea what the motivation was.” The Arsenal fan was studying football coaching, his family said.

A fundraising page has been set up to raise £15,000 in memory of the Ilford man that was killed in a fatal stabbing on his birthday.

The page was set up on October 13th and within just three days, more than £7,500 had been raised by 240 people.
