E-sport, which is also knows as electronic sport, is playing multiplayer games competitively for spectators. The main games played for e-sports are real-time strategy, first-person shooter, fighting and multiplayer online battle arena. The viewers of e-sports increased extremely during 2010. However, the first Korean e-sport association was founded in 2000. Data from Newzoo suggests that the e-sport industry will grow rapidly in the upcoming years, they expect e-sports to soon become a billion-dollar industry. It is also estimated that by 2019, 437 million people will be watching some sort of e sport.

As e-sports are growing and as they have more and more venues each year, could they replace normal sports. People would argue that e-sports could never replace normal sports as the experience is not the same and the professional players do not put as much effort as the sport athletes, but the professional gamers spend 50 hours or more practising their games per week and most of them go thought intense training and schedule. A professional e-sport player could get paid from $1000 to $5000 a month, the highest paid player earns £1500 each month. It is not as much as a professional footballer, but if you are doing what you love it will be enough.

Overall e-sports and normal sports are very different from each other but they can bring the same emotions, joy, excitement, and most importantly they can bring people together. Even as e-sports viewers and events grow it will be hard for them to replace normal sports for at least 100 years, because everyone can get access to a ball, but not everyone can access a computer and play.
