A sure sign that Christmas is on its way is when the iconic Oxford Street turns on its festive, bright lights for tourists and residents of London alike to enjoy. It is now an annual Christmas celebration of British families, evidently popular as it has been a yearly event for almost 60 years.

On November 6th at 6pm, I had the pleasure to see the iconic switching on, surrounded by people stampeding over each other to the street to see the lights. When the lights turned on everyone broke out into a festive fit of cheers and celebration, and the ecstatic energy that Christmas never fails to bring was officially waffling throughout the air.
