Sizzle 'n' Shake, a new independent restaurant, has opened in Wallington on Stafford Road. The American-style diner brings the classic feel of the 50s back to Wallington. With retro furniture and pop-art style decor, the restaurant entices customers as a place like no other in the local area. Not only is the restaurant decorated to fit the 50s theme, but their team of waiters and waitresses also look the part, dressed in 50s outfits. Their kitchen team is also made up of experienced chefs cooking a variety of fresh American-style dishes, from pancake stacks to burgers to milkshakes.

Sizzle 'n' Shake officially opened its doors on Friday 26th February, despite having anticipated opening considerably earlier than this. The restaurant had initially planned to open on January 30th but it was postponed due to "circumstances beyond [the restaurant's] control". Sizzle 'n' Shake reported this on their Facebook page, adding that they wanted to "sincerely apologise" for the later opening date. Despite their setback, they insisted that they would definitely be opening soon and that it would be worth the wait.

The grand opening of the new restaurant took place on the evening of Friday 26th with entertainment from Lianna Haynes, a singer specialising in music from the 50s, to fit the classic atmosphere of the restaurant. Sizzle 'n' Shake also have hopes for her to return again soon, as they have announced plans to have live music acts playing in the restaurant each week.

As the latest exciting new local business to open in Wallington, there are high hopes for Sizzle 'n' Shake to stay around. As something new and unique to the local area, it's expected to be a great success with people from the local community and beyond.
