Brentford’s Henrik Dalsgaard is at a loss to explain the Bees’ recent revival as they sky-rocket up the Championship.

Winning four of their last five games, scoring three goals on each occasion, they put behind them an indifferent start to the season where they picked up just two wins from their opening ten fixtures.

With a 3-0 win over Wigan at the weekend they now sit ninth in the league, and just four points from the play-off spots Dalsgaard and his men have promotion locked in their sights.

The seismic turn around in results, not necessarily performance, has made the Griffin Park outfit a feared opposition in the second tier but Dalsgaard admits they’ve not altered much to transform their fortunes.

“It is a great feeling that we are getting the results now,” he told Danish outlet Bold.dk.

“I don’t think we’ve done anything different than at the start of the season though.

“There are just some relationships that click now, and we know each other better.

“Especially on the field, we are not fun to play against at the moment.

“We won only three away games in the whole of last season, and now we have won three in a row, so we’re doing things the right way.

“We haven’t done much differently, but sometimes it’s also just a lot about luck and margins.

“Among other things, we have lost three matches with 1-0, where the opponents had one shot on goal, and all statistics showed that we should have won 4-1.”

The upturn in results saw Bees boss Thomas Frank nominated for Manager of The Month for October, and Dalsgaard was quick to acknowledge the input the club’s hierarchy had in the change of results.

“It’s great to be in a place where the manager and the owners do not panic and change everything because the results are not there for a period of time.

“Brentford is a solid club, and you can see the results now.

"The target is the top six, and we certainly have the chance if we can keep ourselves fairly free from the worst injuries.

“But the Championship is a special league.

"There is not a single match we can take for granted.”
