Thomas Frank felt his Brentford side were in control despite conceding the lions share of possession in their 2-0 win over Leeds United.

Goals from Neal Maupay and Sergi Canos sealed a win over Marcelo Bielsa’s promotion chasing Yorkshire men, and Frank believes his side were good for the three points.

Surviving an early penalty scare Frank admitted despite taking a huge scalp in Leeds, there were still areas for improvement from his side.

“Two things I want to do better,” said Frank

“The first 15-20 mins and the start of the second half we gave the ball away too easily.

“We played the wrong passes and they won the first time passes.

“And second half we went to long too much, I think we gave the ball away too easily,

“But I’m happy, delighted, pleased with performance and the way we did it.

“It was very good and well deserved.”

Possession Paramount?

Frank referenced the fact that his side had to sit deep for large periods of the game but in doing so, it showcased their ability to defend a lead.

“I’m pleased we knew the way we pressed high would create opportunities.

“We know us and Leeds are the team who have the most possession in the league.

“I’m pleased we can win a game without having the most possession, it means we had to defend well today.

“The only way they created chances is when we gave the ball away.”

Front Three

On the front three of Canos, Maupay and Ollie Watkins the Bees boss admired the attacking threat they carried, specifically the goal scorers, and admitted they should've had more.

“We know they have quality.

“Sergio (Canos) to Neal (Maupay) was beautiful for the first goal, the second goal it wasn't easy, but we have talked about that, and it was another beautiful one.

“The big thing is after we could have had another, Sergi [Canos] had that great run, but if he had squared it two yards to Ollie Watkins we could have had another goal.

"I understand why it is tempting to try and put it in the goal."
