Week 10 of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance saw some unexpected results, non more so than in the Tier 2 West division.

The Summerfield have been having a bit of a mixed season, but sneaked past top of the table Riley’s Choppers by 2 sets to one and 8-7 in frames to stop them running away at the summit.

Third placed Beech Tree Nuthouse convincingly won at Fox Under The Hill to move to level on points with them after a 3-0 away win at the Fox.

Riley’s Rovers were indebted to Paul Dawson’s 3 out of 3 wins as they won away at the Kings Arms 2-1.

This result keeps the Rovers in touch with the top three teams although they never had it all their own way.

Neil Shelton won both of his frames for the Kings Arms and Kerry Wyatt won a personnel battle with Geoff Evans of the Rovers, as she beat her opponent 2-1 on the night after being coincidently paired up to meet each other in all their frames.

Bellegrove Social Club B won at home against bottom of the table Glenmore Arms 2 to put a little bit of distance between the two teams.

Bellegrove Social Club A on the other hand, continue to set the pace at the top of Tier 2 East.

The Crown played very hospitalable hosts to the Bellegrove, but Gary Dixon and Shane Hutley took no prisoners both recording hat tricks.

Keith Smith played his first frames of the season and completed the rout by winning the deciding frame in the last set in their 3-0 win.

New Eltham Social Club remain second despite playing a game more than the Glenmore Arms A in third.

New Eltham talisman Tony Frost was at it again this week, his three frame wins for in a succession of hat trick of hat tricks, helped his team overcome the Porcupine 2-1.

The Porcupine were heading for a heavy defeat until a spirited fight back saw them win 7 of the last 8 frames.

The Glenmore Arms A won handsomely at home to the Royal Standard to pick up the maximum 4 points.

In the top division, the Elite League, leaders O’Connors won at home against the fast improving White Hart to keep their lead at the top to 3 points.

County players Adam Coppen and Tony Gear were undefeated in the 2-1 sets and 10-5 frames victory, in reply Scott Shephaerd won a brace for the White Hart.

A tight battle at the Pickwick saw Riley’s Hotshots secure a much needed win as they chase down O’Connors.

The Pickwick are beginning to find form, so it was just as well that Steve Krishnan was in top form winning all three, including the last frame decider at 7-7 to ensure Hotshots picked up 3 valuable. points Luke Pritchard provided steady support also winning all 3 frames, and it doesn’t end there for Pritchard who gets married on Sunday, so his supporting role may well be continuing for some time to come.

Leading rankings player Tony Halpin refused to bebeaten as Riley’s Woolwich made light work of beating bottom of the table Royal Oak 3-0 in sets and 11-4 in frames to go third.

The window is now open for teams to register for the forthcoming winter season.
