Week 9 in the summer season of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance saw the top two teams in the Elite League clash and it was the team currently in second spot Riley’s Hotshots that took the spoils.

Andre Cox and Steve Krishnan provided the fireworks that helped the Hotshots to the narrow but all important win each breaking and clearing the balls to secure a two sets to one win and 8-7 in frames to close the gap between the two teams to just 3 points. The battle for third spot saw Riley’s Woolwich come unstuck as fifth placed Pickwick ran up an impressive frame score.

Pickwick debutant George Hammond showed some classy touches in his 3 frame wins whilst Martin Storey provided good support as the Pickwick won 2-1 in sets and 10-5 in frames.

Ritchie Mitchell was the star for Woolwich Riley’s with not one but two break and clears.

It was a late finish in the match between the two teams at the foot of the table with Erith Snooker M8'ers just edging out the Royal Oak by a single frame in their 2-1 sets win.

In Tier 2 East the Bellegrove Social Club A continue their march to the title.

This week they comprehensively won 3-0 and 12-3 in frames away at the Royal Standard.

New Eltham Social Club went on the rampage as the Crown visited.

The Crown could only muster 1 frame win all night as New Eltham set about their opponents.

Needless to say the majority of the team went unbeaten with Tony Frost completing a smashing clearance in his second win of the night to continue his recent fine form.

There were also creditable performances from Chris Unwin, Miro Cujic and Billy Dolby, and captain Steve Unwin, which leapfroged New Eltham into second spot.

Elsewhere the Porcupine won narrowly at home to the White Hart B.

Riley’s Choppers hacked into Riley’s Rovers in Tier 2 West.

The top place team made light work of their rivals who were in third spot, to win 3-0 and 13-2 in frames.

Fox Under The Hill continue to chase the Choppers.

Jamie Walkey and Simon Evans both recorded hat tricks as the Fox won at home 3-0 against the Kings Arms. The Beech Tree Nuthouse are now up to third in the league with an strong win away at lowly Glenmore Arms B.

Dave Sparey and Shane O’Reilly both won 3 from 3, and Craig Jones chipped in with a brace as the Glenmore had no answer to their attacking pool.

Bellegrove Social Club B enjoyed only their second win of the season against Summerfield and the 2-1 sets win sees them leap their opponents near the foot of the table.

The window is now open for teams to register for the forthcoming winter season.
