Hotshots completed an impressive double by becoming the South London & Kent Pool Alliance Team Knock Out winners on Thursday to accompany their league championship title secured a fortnight ago.

The Hotshots showed just why they are the best team in the SLKPA at present and conquered all in front off them in 2008-09.

Riley’s were the only opponents that stood in their way from preventing a league and cup double.

Riley’s took an early lead and looked the more likelier in the first set.

However as one or two errors began to creep into Riley’s performance, so the class of Hotshots began to shine through.

Leading narrowly by one frame in five, the second set belonged to the team from Lewisham, as Hotshots stretched the lead to 7-3.

Needing just one more frame for victory Mark Eldridge quickly picked off the balls as Riley’s Tony Gear lost his way, and the cup was won.

Pickwick’s Paul Gafa’ and James Sheed were crowned Pairs champions in an explosive final on the same night.

Up against the fancied Tony Halpin and Ritchie Mitchell from the Jolly Fenman, the Pickwick pair simply refused to let the Fenman duo anywhere near the table.

With the first frame in the bag, won with little fuss, the next two frames were added with the Fenman only permitted a break off shot.

A slight lapse allowed Halpin and Mitchell to steal a frame before more fireworks from Sheed and support from Gafa’ wrapped up the final 4-1.

Sheed won the Pairs for a third time, whilst Gafa’ added the Pairs to his Sudden Death Singles title won earlier in the season.

New teams are always welcome to the SLKPA, with teams consisting of 5 of more players and matches played on Thursday evenings.

Team registrations for the Summer 2009 season are being taken now. For more information log onto www.slkpa.com or contact Paul Gafa on 07753 926291
