The gap at the top of the premier division of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance has narrowed a little this week thanks to the Jolly Fenman’s big win against the Coach & Horses.

Their 13-2 success aids them in the chase to catch the Hotshots whilst the relegation storm clouds gather for the Coach.

Rob Chalmers was in magnificent form as he helped to put the Pickwick to the sword for the Hotshots.

His three wins included two amazing clearances with good support from Rod Altes, who demonstrated various trick shots in the Hotshots firework display, to help them run out 10-5 home winners.

George IV continue their good form.

This week they beat the Fox Under the Hill 11-4, but not before the pool table was dismantled in trying to retrieve Steve Cole’s butt end of the cue which had slipped down a pocket in mid frame.

Proof that although the pool is at time quite serious there’s always a lighter side to the SLKPA.

The Beehive got back on track with an 11-4 win against Woolwich Catholic Club and the Summerfield lost narrowly 8-7 to Riley’s.

The battle between the top two in the first division went favour of the Kings Arms.

Jamie Kay and Lee Osbourn went undefeated against the King William IV, and their 9-6 win means that there is only a single point between both teams now in the race for the title.

A great win for Bellegrove Social Club puts them firmly in the hunt for the play off place against their rivals for the same spot.

The match with the Blue Anchor produced some wonderful pool and the final 10-5 score to the Bellegrove now sees them just a point behind the Blue Anchor.

Elsewhere there were 9-6 wins for Gallies and for the Ship & Billet.

Our Lady of the Rosary had a tight win to remain top of the reserve division, but Pickwick Academicals closed the gap in second significantly with a 10-2 home win. New teams are always welcome into the SLKPA, with teams consisting of 3 or more players and matches played on Thursday evenings.
