The Jolly Fenman are keeping the heat on the Hotshots in the race for the premier division championship in South London & Kent Pool Alliance.

Inspired by Ritchie Mitchell, Tony Halpin and Maltese maestro Dan Fenech who all refused to be beaten, they crushed third placed Beehive 12-3, matching Hotshots score line as they themselves beat Riley’s to remain top by four points.

These two teams are clear at the top and meet each other next week as the halfway point of the season approaches.

The Pickwick nipped into third spot after the Beehive’s demise overcoming the Summerfield 10-5, where Dean James and another Malteser, Paul Gafa’ sunk every black asked of them.

The George IV continue to improve, winning 10-5 against the Catholic Club and look to be back in full flow now with their talented squad.

It appears that the Coach & Horses are sorting out all their in house problems and are rising up the table.

Alan Mehmet was in no mood to muck about breaking and clearing in one of his three frames won, in an important 11-4 away win at the Fox Under The Hill which sees them climb out of the automatic relegation spots.

In division one it’s as you were with all the top four sides winning with eleven being a popular number.

Table toppers King William IV read the riot act to Lee Green Constitutional Club 11-4 and it was likewise for the Kings Arms who edged a little nearer to second spot, thanks to the undefeated Nick Grindley and Jamie Kay bringing the Ship & Billet to order.

The Blue Anchor lost a little ground but still managed a success at home verses Gallies 9-6.

The Bellegrove Social Club are pottering along in fourth, and they also enjoyed an 11-4 win against the Angerstein Hotel.

Towards the foot of the table pride was at stake and the Eagle Tavern returned back to their nest with their heads held high winning 9-6 at Riley’s Royals. New teams are always welcome into the SLKPA, with teams consisting of 5 or more players and matches played on Thursday evenings.

A low budget pilot league is being launched early 2009 to attract more teams into the SLKPA.
