Harlow Town’s form continued to falter in the Isthmian League South Central Division after a 3-0 defeat to Chertsey Town on Saturday.

The hosts blew Harlow away with three first-half goals, the first two coming from Jake Baxter before Lubomir Guentchev finished things off on the cusp of half time.

After an even start to the game, Chertsey began to take control after around 20 minutes and after some good spells of pressure they took the lead when Josh Bexon could only parry Bryan Taylor’s shot onto Baxter’s head, and he nodded home.

Harlow almost hit back immediately, but Billy Jones could not get on the end of Yannick Kissi’s cross.

Instead, Chertsey doubled their lead after 41 minutes when a quick free-kick over the top of the Harlow defence found Baxter and he slotted underneath Bexon for his second.

With the last kick of the half, Chertsey ensured it would be an even tougher prospect for Harlow after the break when Bexon again could only parry a shot, and this time Guentchev was in the right place to tap home.

Jordan Adeyemi had Harlow’s best chance to pull something back in the second half, but he headed Tayo Oyebola’s cross over the crossbar.

Defeat leaves the now-managerless Hawks 10th in the table ahead of tomorrow night’s Tolleshunt D’Arcy Memorial Cup quarter-final at home to Stanway Rovers, which kicks off at 7.45pm.

In addition, the Hawks have confirmed that the loans of both Terrel Egbri and Miles Mitchell-Nelson from Southend United have been extended until the end of the season.

Both joined from the League One side on short-term deals at the start of the season. Egbri has gone on to make 22 appearances this season, scoring six times, while Mitchell-Nelson has appeared 23 times.

Going the other way, Harlow have confirmed that Kevin Dalipi, Oliver Finch, Anders Eriksson, Samson Doherty and Desmond Jibona have been released by the club.
