Enfield Borough failed to build on their 7-0 win over Brimsdown last week after suffering a 4-1 defeat to in-form Stotfold on Saturday.

Goals from Kim Forsythe, Jordan Cleghorne and Robbie Buchanan put the Bedfordshire side out of sight by the break. Elliott Harris’ free-kick pulled one back for the visitors but Owen Robertson restored the three-goal lead.

Stotfold, unbeaten since November, started the better of the two sides and wasted numerous early opportunities through Robertson and Kieran Barnes.

The did take the lead after 22 minutes though when Robertson’s near-post corner was met by Forsythe who glanced the ball beyond Kacper Wojcik.

Rather than produce an immediate reaction, Borough fell further behind seven minutes later when a Barnes corner was cleared straight back to him, and his second delivery was nodded in by Cleghorn at the far post.

It was then three before the break when a free-kick was flicked into Buchanan’s path by Forsythe and he calmly slotted by Wojcik.

The visitors improved in the second half and pulled a goal back when Harris curled in a brilliant free-kick, but the reprieve was short and Stotfold scored again late on when Robertson tapped into an empty net following Wojcik’s save.

Enfield return home this weekend when they host Hillingdon Borough, kicking off at 3pm.
