Saracens will look to keep their Women’s Tyrells Premier 15 title pursuit on course when they entertain Loughborough Lightning on Saturday.

They currently sit second in the table and trail Harlequins by three points having played a game fewer than their title rivals.

With Lightning occupying third spot, picking up victory will be no easy task for Sarries, who will also have one eye on Quins clash with Gloucester-Hartpury.

Alex Austeberry’s side have been imperious this season and boast a perfect record of nine wins from nine.

They may have to shake of some rust, though, having not played since mid-December after their most recent encounter with Richmond was postponed after a failed pitch inspection.

Their previous league outing provided a potentially vital victory in the race for the title as they overcame Quins 33-27 in a keenly contested clash.

The two sides matched each other for much of last season before Sarries claimed their second title on the spin with a 33-17 win over Quins.

Lightning’s attack could pose the biggest threat to the Sarries hopes of picking up a victory and they come into the game in free-scoring form.

They thrashed Bristol Bears 55-7 in their last match and have won seven of their league games so far this term.

Saracens follow the meeting with Lightning with an away day clash against Worcester Women.
