Sunday saw a host of East London Runners athletes compete in Event 2 of the Sunday XC League at Trent Park.

Eighteen club members crossed the line on a bitterly cold morning in North London, with a muddy course culminating in a steep hill up to the finish.

Thomas Grimes was the first ELR member to finish the five-mile course, finishing 18th overall and recording a time of 29.50.

John Henry (23rd) and Mark Moir (66th) followed shortly behind with times of 32.16 and 32.42 respectively, and Karan Gadhia (131st) and Jacob Stevens (139th) were next with 34.49 and 35.06.

Michael Bamford then finished 151st with a time of 35.45, followed by Calvin Bobin (163rd) in 36.01, Paula Bedford (181st) with 36.39 and Nick Hoult (190th) in a time of 36.57.

Gareth Davies was the next across for ELR with a time of 38.17, which earned him 225th place, and Kasia Stachowiak then completed the course in 40.30, coming 277th overall.

They were then followed by Michael Wilson (304th) with a time of 41.12, Maud Hodson (304th) in 41.39 and Alex Jamieson (328th) in 42.36, before finally Catriona Hoult (380th) crossed in 45.03 followed by Marc Akers (402nd) in 46.57 and Fiona Day (416th) in 48.23.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Manjit Bedi and Steven Bywater completed the Bedford Harriers Half Marathon in times of 1:29.05 and 1:54.54 respectively, white Dan Gritton placed 12th at the Mornington Chasers Regents Park 10km in a time of 37.23.

At the Perivale 5 in Ealing, Caroline Frith finished 90th in a time of 34.33, while Antonio Martin Romero recorded a personal best time of 1:10.58 at the XXIV Media Maraton (half marathon) and came first overall in Jerez, Spain. Sheetal Dandgey also completed the event, placing 424th with 1:54.19.

On Saturday, Arthur Diaz completed the Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon in Cork, Ireland, in a time of 6:45.56, placing 429th overall, while Sallyann Eyles came 27th at the Run Through Velopark 5km with a time of 33.39.

Finally, Calvin Bobin and Fiona Critchley recorded respective times of 39.11 and 45.04 at the Essex Vets Cross Country in Writtle, followed by Catriona Hoult and Sophie Edwards with 46.46 and 50.38, and both Daniel Slipper and Jamie Xavier completed the Red Run 10km at Victoria Park in 43.05 and 49.01.
